AliveCor Accessibility Statement

General

AliveCor strives to ensure that its services are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of our customer’s abilities. AliveCor has invested a significant amount of resources to help ensure that its website is made easier to use and more accessible for all audiences, with the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence that our products and services are designed to provide

Accessibility on AliveCor

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines, specifically those outlined in WCAG 2.1 Level AA (published by the World Wide Web Consortium {W3C}).

AliveCor makes every effort to provide a good and positive experience to all visitors to our site and to date we’ve taken the following measures to ensure accessibility of the AliveCor website:

  • Ensure all images and icons have descriptive alt tags and labels
  • Include closed captioning, transcripts and descriptions for all video and audio-based resources and content.
  • Integrate several elements of text-to-page contrast, including text that has a strong contrast to all background elements (including when used with pictures and video), and ensuring all inline links are bolder and a different color than the text around them.
  • Ensure all buttons, links and linked images are properly labeled for use with screen readers and other assistive technologies and are associated with the relevant prompts.
  • Regularly check all links (both internal and external) to ensure none are broken and/or are connected to relevant and correct content or information.
  • Manual controls are available for any video and/or audio elements.
  • Ensure that content can be magnified with standard browser controls, without the loss of content or functionality.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. AliveCor strives to meet the standards laid out in WCAG 2.1 Level AA and continue its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of its site and services in the belief that it is our collective moral obligation and good business sense to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use for those of us with disabilities.

Despite our best efforts to make all of AliveCor’s pages and content fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.

Known areas that may affect accessibility:

  • We are currently in the process of enhancing the search capability of our site, to include adding a search bar/function as soon as possible.
  • Archived documents might not work with current assistive technologies because they use outdated technologies that do not support accessibility. We convert documents to new formats upon request. Please contact support@alivecor.com for support.

PDF Resources

Many of the resource documents on the AliveCor website are in Adobe Acrobat® Portable Document Format (PDF). This specific format is used to preserve the content and layout of our hard copy publications.

People using screen-reading devices generally are unable to read documents directly in PDF format, unless they have an accessibility plug-in installed on their system along with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. This plug-in is available at NO CHARGE from Adobe. Adobe also has online tools that will convert PDF files to HTML on request. To get the plug-in and latest news about Adobe's accessibility tools and services, visit the Access Adobe site.

Assessment Approach
